Sensory-motor moulds made in silicone from Spanish dëna. A pack containing four moulds is shown here – four moulds that constitutes of a sunrise all in nature’s own colours. The four figures are known in the toy business as “open-ended-toys”. This means toys where it’s very much up to the child itself to create a story as a narrative to whichever game is being played. This helps boost the child’s imagination and creativity. The child can use this set from the age of 10 months, although it’s suitable well into later childhood; initially, perhaps as something to bite on, whilst later the figures can be used for stacking and finally as moulds for baking when the child is five or six years of age. All toys from dëna are safe to use in dishwashers, microwave ovens and ordinary ovens – up to temperatures of 230 degrees Celsius. They can also be put in the freezer – and can withstand temperatures as low as minus 50 degrees. The figures are part of a broader range consisting of different shapes and in assorted colours – ranging from bright colours to nature colours, as represented by the set shown here.
